Rugby Crusaders is the name given the Rugby Lions Development XV, and is taken from the original title of The Rugby Football Club.
Experienced players and aspirational youngsters alike can use the Crusaders as a pathway to promotion to the first team by impressing in a competitive fixture list.
From the 2012/13 season, The Crusaders will play in the Zoo Sports Shield (formerly Canterbury Shield), where they will compete against some of the best Second XVs in the country.
